Delete a claim

There are several ways to delete a claim depending on the claim’s status (see Claim statuses). You must have the appropriate permissions to delete a claim.

Important! Once a claim is deleted, it cannot be recovered.

Delete an unsaved in process IP claim.

  1. From within the unsaved claim, click Close window located at the upper-right corner or press Esc. A confirmation displays, asking if you want to save your changes.

  2. Click Exit to close the screen without saving the claim.

Delete a saved in process IP or pended HA or HP claim

  1. Open the claim to delete in claims processing.
    • If there are still edits on the claim, the edits window displays with any edits that need to be resolved.

  2. Use the shortcut keys Alt+F or single-click the star at the bottom left of the screen to display a menu.

  3. Choose Action and then Delete Claim. A warning message displays letting you know that if you delete the claim in error, you'll need to reprocess the claim. If you're certain, click Yes to delete the claim.

Delete a released R claim

  1. Search for and open the released claim.
  2. From the Claim menu, select Delete Claim.

  3. A warning message displays letting you know that if you delete the claim in error, you'll need to reprocess the claim. If you're certain, click Yes to delete the claim.
