Remittance Due Records
A written contract between the employer and union that governs what and how employers pay towards benefits for their employees. The CBA contains the wages, hours, and other working conditions negotiated for members and also determines how much the employer should pay for benefits, how that payment is to be broken out by fund, and when the payment is due. In the basys system, an agreement is the CBA and links all like contracts under it. between the employer and the members' union in the basys system. Contracts, which describe the rates and apps of a certain time frame within the CBA, are linked to agreements, and the agreements are linked to employers to schedule and create their remittance due records.
An agreement can include the terms of one contract or a group of contracts, depending on the CBA. For example, one three-year agreement can contain three contracts with three different yearly rates, or one agreement can contain a single contract.
At a minimum, the agreement requires a group qualifier. When an agreement is linked to an employer, you can also specify how often and when remittances are due for the employer. Based on the employer agreement link settings, such as remittance frequency and employer agreement link status dates, remittance due records are created for the employer based on each qualifier combination.
The order for setting up employer agreement links is as follows:
-
Create the agreement (see Add, update, or delete an agreement). The, add contracts to the agreement.
Note: Depending on your setup, you'll have the opportunity to create and link an agreement for any new contracts, so step 1 and 2 can be completed together. - Set up status and frequency codes (see Add or update agreement link status codes and Add or update frequency codes).
-
Link or add an agreement to the employer.
- Set delinquency and remittance parameters for the agreement link (see Employer agreement delinquency and Remittance form settings).
- Assign agreement link status code (see Add status codes and effective dates).
Once the employer has an agreement link with a status code, they can post remittances. See Remittance due dates for information on changing employers' remittance due dates.
